“Dobrovaření” or GoodCooking at Červený Jelen: When Food Makes a Difference

At Červený Jelen, we believe gastronomy can have a deeper purpose. Food doesn’t just connect flavors — it connects people and their stories. That’s why, together with Marek Fichtner and Jirka Panuška, we created the project Dobrovaření — a series of events where culinary art meets charity.

Doing Good Comes in Many Forms

Dobrovaření isn’t only about food. It also includes GoodFood (Dobrojídlo), GoodDessert (Dobrodezert), GoodTapping (Dobročepování), and GoodGrilling (Dobrogrilování). Each format shares one goal: to help where help is needed most.

For every event, we invite a guest personality to Červený Jelen. They choose a cause or organization close to their heart, and together we create a special dish or dessert available for a limited time. Every plate sold directly supports the chosen charity.


Who Has Cooked for Good with Us

Since the project began, many wonderful people have joined Dobrovaření, helping us raise hundreds of thousands of crowns for those in need:

  • Markéta Konvičková & René Kuboš – supported Daruj vlasy (Donate Your Hair).

  • Jiří Langmajer – cooked for Hospice of St. Lazarus in Plzeň.

  • Monika Absolonová – prepared a GoodMeal for Kapka naděje (Drop of Hope).

  • Marta Jandová – contributed to the Dogpoint animal shelter.

  • Emma Smetana & Jordan Haj – supported Little Yoga for children with cancer.

  • Patricie Pagáčová – donated proceeds to the Pink Bubble Foundation.

  • Josef Maršálek & Klárka Řezníčková – created a GoodDessert for Cake Against Cancer.

  • Jakub Uličník – hosted a GoodGrilling for the Wheelchair League.

  • Ben Cristovao – prepared a vegan GoodMeal supporting Farm of Hope.

  • Veronika “Besky” Beskydiarová – made the dessert “Heavenly with Besky” and supported Adra.

  • Markéta Pavleje & Klárka Řezníčková – created an unconventional Kaiserschmarrn for Kitchenette for Animals.

  • Eliška Podzimková – led the very first GoodMeal, which supported Plešouni, a project helping young people undergoing cancer treatment.

Each of these guests brought their story and mission to Červený Jelen. Whether supporting sick children, people in difficult life situations, hospices, or animal welfare, every event combined extraordinary cuisine with a good cause.

Shared Joy

For our guests, Dobrovaření is a unique opportunity to taste dishes found nowhere else — and to make a positive impact at the same time. For us, it’s a way to connect our culinary craft with compassion.

Every GoodMeal, GoodDessert, or GoodGrilling is different, but they all share one thing: the joy of giving and the belief that food can make the world a better place.
