On Monday, November 17, between 5 and 9 p.m., we invite you to Červený Jelen for a beer that carries a deeper meaning. Come raise a glass to freedom, to the power of truth and reason, and to Dana Drábová – a woman who devoted her life to building a strong, confident, and free Czech Republic. Every beer you have that evening will help those who risk their lives to protect our freedom. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the General Moravec Special Forces Endowment Fund.

Červený Jelen values freedom — the freedom to create, to do business, to speak openly, to live life on our own terms. We don’t take it for granted. And on November 17, we want to join you in remembering how fragile yet essential this value is. A date that holds deep symbolism in Czech history will this year be marked by remembrance, respect, and celebration.

For us, Dana Drábová was a remarkable figure — someone who always stood by what she believed was right, with perspective, courage, and kindness. She was one of the patrons of the charity calendar Heroism Shining in the Dark Times, whose launch we had the honor to host recently here at Červený Jelen. This exceptional project, created by the Civilians Say Thank You initiative, pays tribute to heroes of both the past and the present, reminding us that heroism takes many forms — from the visible acts of bravery to quiet, everyday courage.

We want to honor her legacy once again — symbolically, over a glass of beer that brings people together. And at the same time, we want to support those who stand on the other side — without fame or recognition, but with immense dedication. The General Moravec Special Forces Endowment Fund helps members of the special forces and their families in their most difficult moments. It provides financial, material, and psychological assistance to those who have suffered permanent injuries, or to families who have lost loved ones in the line of duty. The fund was created to be ready to help immediately — when it’s needed most.

Every day, quietly and humbly, these men and women protect our freedom. This evening, we’ll raise a toast — to them, to Dana, and to all those thanks to whom we can live in a free country.

Whether you’re heading to Wenceslas Square, Národní třída, or simply taking a walk through the city on November 17, stop by Jelen for a beer. It’s just around the corner. And after all — freedom tastes best in the company of those who know why they’re celebrating it.
